Goldfish are wonderful pets, but they need a lot of care and time. Goldfish can grow up to 12" in length. Therefore they need at least 10 - 20 gallons of water per fish. They need weekly water changes and need a good filter that can handle their waste. Goldfish will not survive to live a long healthy life in a BOWL!!

I agree........that comet will probably need a bigger tank in a short time.
But otherwise.....that is fine.

Hey everyone, im new to the site, and new to the world of fish-raising. I know im not the most educated about fish, thats why im glad there are forums like this one to help me out. I have a small problem already... ive lost two goldies already, but the second one i got was sick when i bought him, therefore he died and killed my other fish. Now i have two new goldies, a calico fantail and an oranda and a catfish that the petstore said was best to use as a sucker, thing is, my orandas dieing. Her tail and fins are gone, and she floats facing down... I'm worried shes going to die, can anyone help me before shes gone please?
